In particolare, si tratterà di una call for partners, attraverso la quale l'Iniziativa Tecnologica Congiunta Clean Sky vuole selezionare soggetti terzi al fine di sviluppare nuove conoscenze, tecnologie e soluzioni in determinati ambiti. Tali ambiti sono definiti dal Programma stesso attraverso specifici topic proposti direttamente dai core partners di Clean Sky 2, i quali agiranno da Topic Manager durante l'implementazione delle attività previste.
Complessivamente la call include 55 topic, per un budget totale di oltre 69 milioni di euro. I topic inclusi nella call si sono aperti ufficialmente il 6 novembre e sono:
