Group of Italian and Turkish companies is developing a project of algae production using renewable energy and is interested in new partners for the application of a European project.

Project goals for carbon-negative algae production at farm level are,

  • Creating a model of different cultivation microalgae of species based on different GPPs GPPs conditions in Italy (Chiusdino) and Turkiye (K?z?ldere) and determination of needs including heat, CO2, nutrients, etc. Explore the barriers and recommendations for dissemination to the other GPPs in Europe.
  • Utilisation of the waste heat and CO2 of GPPs.
  • Reducing the fossil fuel use of algae cultivation.
  • Increase production yield and reduce production costs of algae cultivation, also with artificial lighting powered by innovative PV systems.
  • Produce co-benefits like biomass and biofuel production from Spirulina.
  • Assess the economic and technical feasibility of using solar thermal and geothermal heat for drying the biomass produced
  • Assess the economic and technical feasibility of using waste water (including geothermal fluids downstream power production) and/or reuse water and nutrients
